MTV launched a new channel, MTV Classic with the best shows from the 80's and 90's. It needed a fresh modern look that also captured the original spirit of MTV and its irreverent ethos. The idea was to use all the great imagery the original programming had to offer and repaint it. We wanted a tactile and DIY feel. To achieve this, the transitions and treatments were all developed by hand and shot in camera.
